Hi! I’m the producer and co-writer of the film This is Tomás (¿Conoces a Tomás?) that will be screened by the San Diego Latino Film Festival this week (March 13, 14 and 17). It is our pleasure to share this film with your organization and community. The film’s director and co-writer, Maria Torres, will be in attendance.

The film is about Leo, an irresponsible musician who agrees to take care of his girlfriend’s autistic brother, Tomas. Leo is initially unsure of how to behave around Tomás, but when Leo and his bandmate Chris decide to take Tomás to the wedding of a famous music producer where they’ve agreed to play, they will discover just how special he really is. The film was made in Spanish and is presented with English subtitles. It was rated as family safe in Mexico but it does include some mild language.

Besides screening in over 700 screens throughout Mexico, it’s a film that has connected strongly with the autism community in our country and we believe it can be of interest for your community as well. We collaborated with several organizations when making the film and we also had the privilege of working with several people in the spectrum both on-screen and as screenplay consultants. The film itself is dedicated to Maria’s brother Pablo.

If the ticket price is a concern for anyone in your community, we’ll gladly speak with the Festival’s organization to provide discounted and/or complimentary tickets.
