Elementary aged children with an autism diagnosis are invited to join a FREE arts and crafts class hosted by MOLA - Museum of Leo's Art. The class runs Thursday evenings from 5-7pm for 4 weeks (10/20, 10/27, 11/3, 11/10). We are limiting this first pilot class to 6, so we can start small but high quality. The class will be run by an multi-disciplinary team of special needs professionals, including the following disciplines: occupational therapy, speech and language pathology and behavior analysis. The class will be held at the Mother Brook Arts and Community Center, 123 High Street, Dedham in room #7 (first floor). This is not a drop off class: 1 family member (or caregiver/other therapist) are encouraged to attend. We will have a separate, quiet space if any attendees need a break from the group setting.
*FREE of charge for families
*Run by multi-disciplinary (OT, Speech and ABA) team of professionals
*Inspired by Leo of MOLA – Museum of Leo’s Art
This class is funded through the non-profit Leo’s family started (The Complete Puzzle, a 501c3), fundraising efforts from the sale of Leo’s artwork, and a generous grant from Dedham Savings Foundation.
Our Autism Response Team (ART) is specially trained to connect people with autism, their families, and caretakers to information, tools, and resources.
