Join us for a fireworks-free 4th of July! The Autism Outdoors project offers individuals with autism and their families an experience in nature that is welcoming, relaxing and fun. The lodge and nature programs are run by staff trained to support guests on the autism spectrum. This offers families a 3-day outdoor adventure without the stress of their child's behavior being misunderstood by others. A variety of outdoor activities tailored to families will be offered. They include exploration through nature sensory stations and pond discovery. When you're ready to relax, hop into one of our swinging hammock chairs or bean bags, sit by the banks of a stream or come out for an evening campfire or look through the telescope to worlds beyond.

This program is rated Easier. The activities are designed for families with school-aged children. Outdoor sessions involve walking less than a mile on uneven terrain for pond discovery and nature trail exploration. An optional longer hike is offered on Sunday morning. Indoor sessions include stories and craft time.

This program will have onsite support from the following professionals
Terese Dana, BCBA - Behavior Analyst and Program Designer, the Laura Adaptive Recreation Center, Madison, NH
Kelly Elliot - Licensed Therapeutic Recreation Therapist, Director of the Laura Adaptive Recreation Center, Madison NH
