The Museum of the Great Plains will be hosting a special evening event for families with special needs. From 5:30 to 7:30 PM, families will be able to explore the gallery in a quiet, controlled environment. Displays with intense light and sound will be disabled for the evening. Our traveling exhibit right now is Senses at Play, which focuses on how the human body interprets information. Designed with autism therapy and education in mind, Senses at Play is a natural centerpiece for this event.
We are offering our $5/person school rate in the spirit of a special educational field trip for families.
Our Autism Response Team (ART) is specially trained to connect people with autism, their families, and caretakers to information, tools, and resources.
