Sensory Friendly Museum and a Movie Night

November 11, 2019 at 5:30 pm - November 11, 2019 at 8:00 pm

New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science
1801 Mountain Rd. N.W.
Albuquerque, NM 87104

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science is proud to partner with “Surf Dog Ricochet”, who is featured in Superpower Dogs, to offer a sensory friendly screening of the documentary film at the Dyna Theater. Ricochet is a surf and therapy dog who helps people with special needs and veterans with PTSD.

The sensory friendly film will be shown in 2D with the theater lights only dimmed and the sound turned down. This family friendly showing encourages children to express themselves any way they want, such as talking, dancing, and singing during the show.

Before and after the show, guests are encouraged to explore the Museum, which also be sensory friendly (sound turned off and flashing lights turn off). Come close and look at our new Bisti Beast without the fear of her roar or express yourself at one of our activity stations.

Make this a family night out by stopping into the Hope Cafe for dinner before 6:00pm, and come experience the museum in a new way.

Our Autism Response Team (ART) is specially trained to connect people with autism, their families, and caretakers to information, tools, and resources.
