Yoga for children is becoming more popular everyday! Yoga can help children develop awareness of their bodies, help with coordination, concentration, learn coping techniques to manage stress and anxiety, as well as, increase self confidence, and cultivate a positive self image. Teaching children yoga however is sometimes different from the quiet, peaceful meditating classes adults envision. This yoga class is a bit noisy, playful and offers lots of movement to keep children interested. This is not your mommy’s yoga class! This class is designed for young children age 4 to 6 diagnosed with autism, and focuses on fun, playful activities, following the theory that if children experience fun, joyful experiences the likelihood of continuing and gaining the benefits are higher. This class will also explore mindfulness activities and introduce children to a number of self regulation skills.
When: Saturdays 9:00 - 9:45
