The Burlington County Sheriff's Department has been providing the Project Lifesaver Program to county residents since 2005. This program provides special tracking bracelets to persons with autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia and other conditions that may lead to wandering. Project Lifesaver receivers are used to track the bracelets should an individual become missing. Through this grant, the Sheriff's Department will obtain 15 Project Lifesaver bracelets to be issued to clients with autism spectrum disorders. They will also purchase a new Project Lifesaver receiver that will replace an outdated model currently in service. This will improve response efficiency, which is important in their very large county.
